In an article titled "Round Up Hate-Promoters Now, Before Any More Holocaust Museum Attacks," US News & World Report writer Bonnie Erbe urges us to "round up promoters of hate before they kill again."
Does this include the institutionalized hatred of Muslims that is killing innocent Iraqis, Afghanis and Pakistanis by the hundreds of thousands? Does this include blaming Muslims for attacking the Pentagon and World Trade Center on 9/11 when they did nothing of the kind?
Of course not. The only hatred that Erbe cares about is hatred of Jews, which killed a man at the Holocaust Museum. I am very sorry about his death, and condolences to his family. But being in the wrong place at the wrong time does not make security guard Stephen Tyrone Johns a "national hero," and is no reason to institute a fascist dictatorship with the power to round up anyone who has expressed a view that the powers that be consider hateful.
Clearly most Americans have no problem with the enormous hate crime of waging illegal and immoral war against innocent Muslims. But one dead security guard? Better dismantle the republic, and fast.
